This is the first video ever to be uploaded to YouTube. It was added exactly five years ago, to the day. I think what strikes me most about the 19 second video is how much isn’t said, but lingers in this kid’s subtext. It isn’t clear to me whether he is being facetious or not when he tells the camera about elephants’ trunks. Obviously this factoid is rendered completely unnecessary for anyone who has the slightest comprehension of what types of animals elephants are. The host of this video also speaks fairly slowly and deliberately, as if he is hiding a secret. I suspect that secret involves the large quantities of drugs that he has imbibed directly before going on camera, but I leave the rest of you to come to your own conclusions.
Nevertheless, this video has obviously withstood the test of time and is, in my opinion, arguably one of the best YouTube videos ever created.
